Changing Settings

Settings

The Settings menu is where you will configure everything about how your site works and functions.  This is located on the dash board in the left hand menu.

General

In the General Settings you can change how a title, tagline, timezone, and date/time formats are displayed.

  1. Organization Name the title of your business should go here.  This will be displayed in the title bar of the web browser and as the header of your theme.

  2. Tagline this should be a short description of your business. It will display on certain themes in designated areas.

  3. E-Mail Address used for admin purposes only.
  4. Timezone you can set your timezone here.  Go to Time and Date to look up the codes.
  5. Date Format Sets the date layout.
  6. Time Format Set the time display.
  7. Week Starts On this is really only used when using a calendar widget.  It would display the starting week of the calendar.
  8. Be sure to click Save Changes when you are done.

Please Note:
WibWabWeb does not display #3-5 on the actual website.  This is used just in the back end settings.

Writing

  1. Size of the editing box this is to set how many lines across you want your text editor to be.
  2. Formatting Has two options.  The first will allow you to emoticon symbols like smiley faces when you are typing.  When checked this will turn your smiley face into a graphical smiley face.  The second is, to fix any of your invaild XHTML code.  XHTML can create issues if not written correctly.  It is wise to turn this option on.
  3. Be sure to click Save Changes when done.

This setting pertains to settings for a page for your site.  WibWabWeb is not offering this at this time.

Reading

reading

  1. Home page displays allows you to choose which page will appear as your home page.
  2. Syndication feeds show the most recent allows you to see how many posts will be sent out at once via RSS feed.
  3. For each article in a feed, show Full text will show the entire content of a post and Summary will show a partial view of the content that was written.
  4. Encoding for pages and feeds allows you to change the character encoding you write.  UTF-8 is recommended

Media

media

Image Sizes

In the Media settings you can change the default for inserting images or media into your pages.

  1. Thumbnail size inserting the thumbnail size the image will be resized and cropped to the setting.
  2. Medium size image will keep the dimensions set.
  3. Large size image will keep the dimensions set.

If theses settings are changed after images have been upload to the page, those images will not be affected by this change.  Only the images upload after the changes will show the changed settings.

Embeds

  1. Auto-Embeds automatically embed all plain text URLs.  Make sure this is checked if embedding videos.
  2. Maximum embed Size video will keep the dimensions set.


CryptX Anti-Spam

This blocks your email from SPAM spiders scanning for your email addresses.  With CryptX you can hide all your email addresses, with and without a mailto-link, by converting them using javascript or UNICODE. Although you can choose to add a mailto-link to all unlinked email addresses with only one click at the settings.  Check the box next to Disable CryptX if you prefer not to have this option.
