Creating A Photo Gallery

A gallery is used to show a group of thumbnail images in a desired page.  When uploading an image while editing/creating a page the gallery will be automatically be set in that particular page.  If the images are uploaded to the media library they will then have to be attached to the specific page you want them to appear on.

Adding Images to the Gallery

  1. Create a new page or edit an existing page.  If it is a new page make sure it is saved first before you try to create a gallery.
  2. Insert an image by clicking on the image icon following Upload/Insert.
  3. Click Browse and find the file on your local computer.
  4. Select the file on your computer, just like you were navigating to and opening a file in a word-processing program, and click Open. The dialog box will close and the filename will now be filled in next to File.
  5. Click Uploadupload
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 to upload more images to the gallery.
  7. Click on the Gallery tab in the navigation and this will take you into your gallery for editing and inserting.

Editing and Inserting a Gallery

Now that your images are in the gallery they need to be edited before inserting the gallery to the page.

Media

  1. Menu Order place a number in the order box to achieve the sequence of the images desired.                                      Order Box
  2. Show is used to change the title, caption, and description of the image.

  3. Click Save all Changes when finished editing.

  1. Link to thumbnails to set to image file when images were uploaded to a page.  Set to attachment page if images were uploaded to the Media Library or is located on another page.
  2. Order Images by click the drop down arrow and select the desired format you wish to display your images.
  3. Order by ascending or descending.
  4. Gallery Columns displays the number of columns for the amount of thumbnails you wish to use.   Testing the gallery look before publishing is important because the look will vary with different theme selections.
  5. Insert Gallery once all the editing is done click Insert Galley.  Be sure to view it in the visual editor.
  6. The Gallery is now located in the visual text editor. One click on the gallery makes the Edit Gallery icon appear.  Click on it to proceed back to edit the gallery, if needed.
